Applications for 2026/2027

Dear Future Youth Leaders,

We are thrilled to announce that we are now accepting applications for the Class of 2029 Youth Leadership Academy, presented by Lake Houston Outreach. This unique opportunity is designed for 10th-grade students who are eager to enhance their leadership skills, engage with their peers, and make a positive impact in their community. 

The cost-free Youth Leadership Academy will offer a series of monthly sessions that include inspiring speakers, all necessary materials, and breakfast and lunch for each session. These sessions will empower you to grow as leaders and provide you with the tools and experiences needed to succeed in your future endeavors. 

As you embark on this journey, please note that the Meet & Greet, Community Service Project, and Graduation events are mandatory components of the program. These elements are crucial for fostering teamwork, commitment, and a sense of responsibility among our participants. 

We encourage all interested students to apply and seize this opportunity to develop their leadership potential, build lasting connections, and make a difference in their communities. Together, we can create a cohort of young leaders who will inspire positive change and leave a lasting impact on the community around them. 

Below is the 2026/2027 application for your review and completion. Please submit your completed application to Lake Houston Outreach by the due date of Friday, April 24, 2026. Each candidate must participate in the interview process for the YLA program. We will contact you soon after the application deadline to confirm your interview date and time. Interviews will last approximately 30 minutes per applicant. Note that the interviews will be conducted either in person or virtually.
